SAD: Kidnappers Kill Man In Ebonyi, Tamper With Private Part

The dead body of a man in his late 40s, Christian Isha of Ndubia village, Igbeagu Community in Izzi local government area of Ebonyi State was at the weekend found in a swamp with his private parts mutilated and the face skinned.

His hand was placed on his chest and his mobile phone which has been off since he was kidnapped.

Anti-corruption War Is Non-negotiable, Buhari Replies Jonathan’s Ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday replied former Nigerian ministers who questioned the sincerity of his anti-corruption war, saying it is not intended to rubbish the name of anyone.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has commenced a full investigation into the activities of the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

Three persons have been killed and two others injured in renewed hostilities between Fulani herdsmen and residents of Okuke, a satellite village at Amorji in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Congregation Chases Pastor From Church For Impregnating Member

There was commotion on Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos as members of the church rejected their pastor and chased him away for allegedly impregnating his housemaid.

It was learnt that the pastor, Barkuma Andrew, was stopped from leading the church seven months ago when the housemaid, who was also a member of the church, Grace, had complications after aborting the pregnancy.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has called on his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, to go and defend himself before the judicial commission of inquiry sitting in the state.

Wike, who was reacting to Amaechi’s declaration on Saturday that he (Amaechi) would not appear before the Justice George Omereji-led panel of inquiry, said it was wrong for the former governor to describe the commission as illegal even when the court had ruled that the panel was in order.

Trial For Former National Security Adviser Begins Tuesday

The Federal Government will on Tuesday (tomorrow) arraign a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly being in possession of firearms without license, The PUNCH learnt on Sunday.

The Department of State Security Service had, in a statement by one of its officials, Tony Opuiyo, on August 24, 2015, said that it had charged Dasuki with the alleged offence.

The ISIS leader, Ahmed Al-Assir, who was arrested in Lebanon on his way to Nigeria lately, was coming on the invitation of a foreign company operating in the country, Daily Trust has gathered.

SHOCKING: Forensic Experts Find Non-Human Prints In Akwa Ibom Governorship Ballot Papers

One of the forensic experts who testified before the Akwa Ibom State governorship tribunal Thursday, said out of the 140,832 finger prints on ballot papers matched (scanned and analyzed) over 100,000 were non-human prints.

The witness was testifying in the gubernatorial election suit between Umana Umana of the All Progressives congress (APC) and governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, who was the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party in the election. Two Armed Robbers Killed In Attack On PUNCH Office (Graphic Photo)

TWO armed robbers were shot dead by the police on Wednesday after they robbed The PUNCH office located at Mile One, Diobu, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The four-member gang of armed robbers had entered the circulation office of the media organisation at about 1.30pm and asked the Circulation Manager, Mr. Raji Tajudeen, to surrender a bag containing N500,000 to them.

As they told Tajudeen to cooperate with them, one of them brandished a gun and snatched a yellow bag containing the money.

Flight Attendant’s Accomplice Confesses, We Hid Cocaine In Arik Flight Meals

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday said it had apprehended another employee of Arik Air, Ikechukwu Chibuzor Oliver, for his alleged involvement in the smuggling of 20kg cocaine to London on Monday.

According to the NDLEA, Oliver had confessed to the crime and had revealed that he charged N400,000 for each of the three bags containing the substance.

Man Stabs Lover To Death, Flees Ogun Community

There has been tension in the Oke Afa, Magboro area of Ogun State after a woman, Edeth Favour, was stabbed to death by her lover during an altercation. The man, who residents could not identify by name, has reportedly fled the area.

It was gathered that the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, had caused panic as policemen continually raided youths in the area in a bid to get the runaway lover. It was gathered that Favour, at about 7am on Tuesday, had an argument with her lover in her rented apartment. It was learnt that the lover, during the altercation, stabbed Favour in the stomach and fled from the house.

Buhari Approves 65 Licences For Private Refineries

President Muhammadu Buhari has granted licences to 65 Nigerian companies to construct modular refineries. The companies were selected from about 285 applications that were screened for the purpose.

Modular refineries are mini-refineries with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 barrels per day, bpd, which can be assembled and separated easily for enhanced performance and efficiency.

35 years old Steven Anowa, from Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State, presently cooling his heels with the police in Akwa Ibom State, has related how he butchered 31-year-old Daniel Bassey Solomon, the brother of his girlfriend at his one-room apartment in Itu Street, Uyo, the state capital.

Solomon hailed from Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. His killer, who is in the habit of changing residences, had just packed from Uruan where he met and started dating Solomon’s sister, about two years ago.

SAD: Man Dies Inside Tanker He Entered To Steal Diesel

This happened this evening in one of the filling stations along Asaba-Onitsha express way in Asaba. A tanker conductor went to steal diesel from a parked tanker at the filling station last night.

He went inside the tanker with his rubber cans but unfortunately did not succeed and he died inside. It took some men of Delta State fire service to cut open a part of the tanker to bring his dead body out. I have exclusive photos and they are graphic so be warned.

NDLEA Investigates Arik Air Crew Member Caught With N105 Million Cocaine In UK

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have launched an investigation into the case of the Arik Air cabin crew member, Chika Egwu Udensi, who was caught on the night of Monday, August 24, 2015 by the United Kingdom Border Force with 20 kilogrammes of cocaine with a street value of N105 million (£350,000).

Robbery Suspects Cut Bars, Escapes From Police Cell

Two of the robbery suspects, who were arrested while they were operating on Iju Road, in the Agege area of Lagos, have escaped from the police cell.

14 Year Old Boy Kills Brother With Dad’s Gun Accidentally

The sleepy town of Umueze, Enugwu-Achi, Oji-River Local Government Area, Enugu State, was
last Monday thrown into mourning, following the death of three-year-old Akachukwu in the hands of his 14-year-old brother Ebubechukwu,14, using their father’s gun.

The brothers were said to be re-enacting movie scenes, not knowing that the gun was loaded.
According to a source, their father, Christian Odika, had left for their village square at Obodo-Ukwu Enugwu-Akwu, for a meeting, when the tragic news reached him.

It was gathered that on getting to his house, he met his son, Akachukwu, in a pool of his own blood.

Nigeria Police To Withdrawal Officers From VIP's And Deploy Policemen To Airports, Highways

Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that the over 130,000 police personnel attached to unauthorised persons and VIPs in the country be withdrawn and deployed to confront the security challenges, Force Headquarters, in conjunction with the Police Service Commission, PSC, is set to commence the implementation.

US Customs Agents Seize $40K From Nigerian Traveler At BWI

Customs and Border Patrol agents have seized more than $40,000 in unreported currency from a Nigerian traveler at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday that the man who arrived at BWI on a flight from London on Sunday initially declared that he had $5,000. The man later amended that to $22,000, but officials say customs agents ultimately discovered more than $42,700 on the man and in his luggage.

The money was seized and the man was advised on how to file a petition for the return of the currency. He has not been charged with a crime.

There’s no limit on how much currency travelers can import and export, but they must report amounts larger than $10,000.

Cultists Shoot APC Chieftain's Only Son To Death

A bloody clash between two rival cult groups at the University of Jos (UNIJOS) over the weekend has left a student dead. Sources claimed that the incident occurred at Gondola, near Angwan Rukuba in Jos North local council, as members of a group went to the room of a member of a rival cult simply identified as Nanfwan, a diploma student at the institution’s Centre for Continuing Education.

BUSTED: Man Hid 15kg Of Suspected Ivory Inside This Tailor-made Vest In Hong Kong

A 42-year-old traveller from Nigeria was arrested at Hong Kong International Airport with 15kg of suspected ivory products stashed inside the pockets of a tailor-made vest.

He arrived in the city from Abuja, Nigeria, via Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on Monday morning.
